If there is something every woman knows- albeit probably only American women, it's that when it comes to style, the French have it down. French women have that Je ne sais quoi that is highly sought after, and they pull everything off with a style and elegance that is, frankly, amazing. Gosh, there are even books written on how to follow your inner french girl! But whether it's their lust for life, or passion and ease, we can at least try to take a bit of their clothing choices into our daily wardrobes, don't you think?
This French girl, Marjorie Andre, has it down in 6 steps:
- Start with the Basics – Buy classic, timeless pieces of clothing, particularly in black, and then add to them with jewelry, scarves, shoes, etc
- Wear dresses – According to our throaty French friend “they are your best friend”.
- Choose style over comfort – It’s better to be a little uncomfortable for the sake of style. This means you may need to wear heels that are a bit higher than you’re used to.
- Accessorize – Master the art of wearing long chunky beads as well as tying a scarf in several ways.
- Use Make-up – Keep it simple and elegant. A bit of blush, a bit of eyeliner, a bit of mascara, a bit of lipstick, and a lot of passion is what you need.
- Create the Image – A French woman is feminine, confident, graceful, and elegant. Everything you wear and do should reflect this.
