Paris in the Summer

Since I'm leaving for Europe (Amsterdam, Belgium, then Paris. Guess which is the favorite? ;), I decided to share one of the best songs, from one of the best movies. Ever. Yes, I am talking about Anastasia:

And while we're at it, here's some lyrics from the song I'm sorta writing, sort of. As in, it's really only a bunch of choruses... or at least maybe it could turn into a poem someday...

Our world is changing all around us/ And I'm a bit afraid to fall/ I see your hands shaking so softly/ It's ok to feel it all
I love Paris in the springtime/ It's the same way I dream of/ All the flowers in the morning/ And at midnight they drift off
The poem I wish became a story/ One without an ending yet/ Lines across the page just showing/ All we never almost had
I feel too much and always show it/ You can't seem to feel regret/ Why I can't forget I don't know yet/ But I hope I never forget
That, I love Paris in the Summer/ Where the breeze blows through the trees/ The way the sunlight hits the water/ Making reflections of memories
All the love is all around us/ Love softly in its way/ Love in Paris can define us/ We'll always have Paris someday...

Kisses From Paris

A little montage of pictures of, well, kisses from Paris. Just because.
To be fair, the famous one with the sailor and the nurse isn't in Paris, but I still love it so much that I had to put it in. Seeing as I'm leaving for Paris tomorrow, I felt it would be only fitting to show a  little inspiration from the city of love. Now all we need is some cheesy French accordion playing... ;)

Summer's Secrets

So summer's right around the corner! Well, it may already be here for some of you, but I have to wait until Wednesday, then, Paris! So really, not a long wait ;)

So the pictures below are just some little summer inspirations I found cute.  Including  a couple things I'd like to do (Can you guess what they are? hehe) But most of all, I want to start summer off on a good start, so read my first picture quote, take that to heart, and have a wonderful summer!

And this last one is my absolute favorite :) It just shows all that breeziness of a summer romance and happiness, and I don't even know, but I just love it.

Garotta de Ipanema

We all know the girl from Ipanema, the bossa nova tune that sits in our minds whever we hear it, inspiring us to either want to go to a beach, or be that girl. The one who walks by the world smiles, and the world is more beautiful because of her love (personally, I prefer the portuguese lyrics because they are more poetic, and the original lyrics :))
So, here's some inspiration from the Ipanema girl herself, Helo Pinheiro

Yes, You Do Make Him Nervous Lizzy

So, remember the Bombshell manual of style I was talking about before? Well an important part they stressed was entrances and exits of the Bombshell. They mentioned an Elizabeth Taylor entrance with Montgomery Clift, which of course, even though I've never seen the movie, I recognized right away while watching a documentary on old Hollywood. And of course, I just had to share it, because it truly is wonderful. Her lingering, as they put it, is pure perfection :)
On another note, no maybe the same note, don't you just love watching Montgomery? And there's Paul Newman too. And Marlon Brando. Why is it I have a thing for dead men? I guess it's unfortunate for everyone else who has to live up to my high standards... ;)

Rita In Spring

So I was sitting at my computer (I suppose obviously), looking at some wonderful pictures of some of the most iconic stars in their personal lives, or really just wearing more casual clothing. And of course, they look gorgeous, put together, and fit for whatever occasion, in true bombshell style. And then a moment of divine intervention came to me; Why can't I dress like that?? And then I realized, I can. And, so can everyone else. And then god created polyvore, and the rest is history :)

Really, these outfits are very simple to recreate, and under no circumstances do I plan to buy the exact items, mostly because they're very expensive, and that's really not the idea of my little project here. So these sort of items you can find at home, or buy from forever21 for 20 dollars instead of 200 :)

That Time of Year Again (aka Me and a Tree)

Yes, it is that time when the trees are just so full of petals that they have to come down somehow. But how you ask? Well they trickle down, like little raindrops every time the wind blows, or someone comes and shakes them. Maybe not rain... a little more like snow... warm snow...
